What to lookout for!?

Mainly primates including gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda, chimpanzees, game drives and a boat trip in Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo and tree climbing lions in Ishasha.

Quotation

The group rate from 2 – 6 pax is $ 3,875 and the same fixed rate per person sharing excluding the gorilla permits.
The rate for a single traveller is $5,225 excluding the gorilla permits
The minimum group number is 2 pax

Inclusions

  1. Meals and accommodation as per the itinerary. (Note the first night is bed and breakfast and the rest is breakfast and dinner).
  2. All ground transportation in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle.
  3. Park entrance fees.

Day Destination Plan/Activities Accommodation
Day 1 Arrival – Entebbe–Kampala – 42km. On arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your representative from Rungo Safaris who will then transfer you to Kampala for the overnight. Malakai Eco lodge.

Meal plan: Bed and Breakfast

Day 2 Kampala – Kibale Forest (450 km approx. 5-6 hours). Depart Kampala for Kibale Forest National park arriving in the afternoon.
In the afternoon, go for Bigodi swamp walk
Chimpanzee Forest guest house.

Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and Dinner

Day 3 Kibale National Park. In the morning, you will go for the full day chimpanzee habituation and be part of the team that goes to study the behavior of these primates in order to make them get used to human beings. Chimpanzee Forest guest house.

Day 4 Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park. (Approx. 2 hours drive) Depart Kibale  for Queen Elizabeth National Park having a game drive while entering the park arriving in the afternoon.

Later go for an early evening game drive.

Day 5 Queen Elizabeth. A game drive in the Kasenyi area in the morning.
Relax and head for an afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga Channel.

Day 6 Queen Elizabeth – Ishasha sector A game drive as you depart Queen Elizabeth for the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth (Ishasha) famed for the tree climbing lions arriving at the camp in time for lunch.

Relax in the afternoon and later go for an evening game drive

Day 7 Ishasha – Bwindi southern sector near kisoro. (Approx. 5 hours drive). A game drive in search of the tree climbing lions

Later depart Ishasha for Kisoro via kabale which has a  beautiful sight of hills, valleys and terrace farming, arriving in the afternoon.
Relax after lunch or take an optional boat trip on L.Mutanda.
Prepare  for the following day’s gorilla tracking and and rest

Day 8 Bwindi southern group Gorilla Tracking  in the morning.

In the afternoon relax at the lodge

Day 9 Mgahinga – Rwanda. This morning you will go for an optional boat trip on Lake Mutanda or an optional visit to the Batwa community in Nyakabande where you will be entertained and later drive to Rwanda for the optional 2nd gorilla tracking. La Palme hotel.

Day 11 Rwanda-Lake Bunyonyi Optional visit to the Golden monkeys/Diana Fossey’s grave

Transfer back to Uganda – Lake Bunyonyi
Have a boat trip on the deepest lake in Africa (Lake Bunyonyi)

Day 12 Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park Depart Lake Bunyonyi for Lake Mburo national park having a game drive while entering the park. Lake Mburo Lodge.

Day 13 Lake Mburo – Kampala – Entebbe After breakfast, have game drive or an optional guided walking safari and then proceed to Entebbe  having a stop to look at the Royal Drum makers, the Equator – where you will be able to stand and be on both hemispheres at once arriving in the evening to catch your flight back home.
